About Dean Rose

A native of West Virginia, Dean & his wife, Robin, live in Frederick with their Miniature Goldendoodle, Bo. Robin is the Vice President of Development for Frederick Health. They have two children, both of whom graduated from Frederick County Public Schools and the University of South Carolina. Kyler works as a Marketing Services Manager for Octagon Sports Marketing in Charleston, SC and Hollyn is a Pediatric Oncology Nurse at Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, NC.
Dean graduated from Marshall University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1984 where he was a member of the tennis team.
Dean began his career with State Farm Insurance Companies 40 years ago, as a Home & Property Claim Representative serving southern WV, he also logged over 500 days as a National Catastrophe Claims Representative where he worked with clients across the country who had experienced losses from weather related emergencies. Dean later transitioned into agency and executive management, which brought him to Frederick in 1998 to work at the State Farm Regional Office. He has spent the last 25 years as a State Farm Agent located in Middletown.
Dean has served as a volunteer with a number of non-profit organizations including the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Heartly House, and the Alzheimer’s Association. He currently serves on the Board of The Literacy Council of Frederick County, the Special Gifts Committee of the Frederick Health Development Council and previously served on the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Club of Frederick County for 6 years, where he served as Board Chair for 2 years. He also volunteered as an Assistant Boys Varsity Basketball Coach for 13 years at both Urbana and Oakdale High Schools. In 2021 Dean was nominated to the Frederick County Compensation Review Commission where he served as Chair.

Dean has served on the Board of Education since December of 2022. He served as Board Vice President in 2023 & 2025 and was elected Board President for 2026. He has also served on the Board Policy Committee for 3 years and was Committee Chair in 2025

When not working or volunteering, Dean enjoys golfing, working out, and taking advantage of all the wonderful things to do in Frederick.
